Adolescent School-Based Peer Recovery Coach

- Part-Time Evenings (15-20 hours per week)
Pay Range:
- $15.00-$18.00 per hour dependent upon level of experience.
Location: Hope Academy Recovery High School in Indianapolis, IN
Education/Certification:
- High School Graduate
- Applicant must have a certification in Peer Recovery Coaching that is active in the State of Indiana, with at least 1 full year of commensurate work experience in peer support, and at least 2 full years of sustained personal sobriety from all alcohol and other drugs.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Coaching and coming along side of high-school age clients in their mental health and addiction recovery journeys, partnering with them to practice new tools, design new ways of living, and maximize their strengths.
- Assisting young clients in planning goals and in connecting to community resources.
- Facilitating skills development and relapse prevention groups.
- Assisting young clients in identifying and overcoming barriers to their wellness.
- Facilitating family involvement in clients’ wellness.
- Communicating effectively with teammates, clients, clinicians, parents or family members of clients, and outside providers/referrers.
- Displaying hospitality to guests and clients, exhibiting a willingness to create a meaningful and uniquely better experience for our clients.
- Orienting new clients to the Adolescent IOT Program with The Willow Center at Hope Academy.
- Maintaining confidentiality for clients, families and the center by abiding by all HIPAA and CFR42 Part 2 regulations.
- Entering information into electronic medical records and regular documentation following client communications.

- Must be ethical; Good professional boundaries.
- Must practice and value equity with clients of all backgrounds and identities.
- Must be able to use computers for accessing Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Office, Outlook Email, etc.
- Must be comfortable and competent in working with individuals who have experienced complex mental, emotional, or relational trauma.
- Must be a solid and thorough communicator, be comfortable speaking in front of a group, and be competent in leading small-group dynamics.
- Must have basic knowledge of Motivational Interviewing skills.
- Must be committed to fostering a culture of recovery as young clients start their recovery journey in early sobriety.
- Must be well organized, be flexible, be patient, and be willing to learn.
- Must participate in and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Must be energetic, motivated, self-sufficient, creative, and reliable.
- Must complete and pass a full criminal background check and a Urine Drug Screen before hire.
- Must possess basic First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to get certified within 6 months of hire.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
